Birdwatching

With the massive body of water around Situ, comes incredible marine life, which in turn attracts a myriad of birds. From the Green-backed and the Goliath Heron to the Yellow-rumped Tinkerbird, bird watching is a delight on our island paradise. Some of the species you will find include: Red faced Cisticola, Tawny-flanked Prinia, Little Bee-Eater, Zanzibar Red Bishop, the Crab Plover and of course the much anticipated Water Thick-Knee. The best time to catch the birds out and about is early in the morning as the sun begins to rise. It’s great fun identifying them as you stroll about the island. Find them scratching in the thickets, or wading in the shallows. Situ is simply stunning with its wonderful array of birds.
